The APGA candidate for Aba central state constituency Hon Mathew Okorie has questioned why some of the infrastructure which would have been generating revenue, providing jobs and helping to improve the lives of Abians are still in bad shape. He also ask why the state legislators are yet to come up with Bills addressing the rehabilitation of infrastructure such as Glass industry, Enyimba Hotel, fire service to mention but a few to this minute. He maintained that the rehabilitation of those areas can help in the lives of Abians. He assured the people of Aba central and Abia in general that if they give him the opportunity to serve them in Aba central state constituency come next year, He will never relent in sponsoring bills to rehabilitate those facilities, engaging on serious town hall meeting and stakeholders in pursue of strategy in rehabilitating them for the betterment of Abians.
He therefore called on the people of Aba central to get their PVC ready to help change the old narrative next year.
His statement reads:
I mentioned in my ten points agenda that one of my main plan will focus on rehabilitation of decayed and aboundon infrastructures in Aba central state constituency during my four year’s tenure as a legislator.
This would be made possible by welcoming suggested ideas from my special team on project, as well from my constituency stakeholders and also town hall meetings on how to revive and rehabilitate some of the dead infrastructures in our constituency.
In order to show how committed and serious I am, I have already before hand taken time with my project team to go round the constituency to find out some of the government infrastructures that are not working properly at the moment or totally dead that needs to be rehabilitate.
From our research, we find out that the Glass Industry, Enyimba hotel, Fire service, some schools, to mention but a few have not been working for decades, while some of them are working but without standard equipments.
After our findings, we came with an idea that when we get to office in 2023, we will first engage our team with some consultations of the relevant authorities in the government as well as constant meetings with the Governor and where necessary engaging the traditional rulers, village heads, councillors, local government chairmen and other prominent leaders in the constituency for the way forward, while also sponsoring bills for the rehabilitation bearing in mind that the task can not be done by me alone but on a collective effort ideas.
I told you before now that I have lived most of my life abroad precisely Finland where things like these are working, and in this case I will try to see if I can also employ the effort of the foreign experts with my connection to see if we can go into partnership with them so that they can come and manage it if the government maybe don’t have money to revive or fix them back.
I have seen such foreign partnership worked at some states like Anambra and Ebonyi and today it has generated a lot of money to those states and even reduce the rate of unemployment there too.
There are alot of plans me and my teams has put in place to make the lives of our people better. I therefore called on the people of Aba central to get their PVC ready to help change the old narrative next year. Our children must go to school with better structures, that is what we want to do. And by the grace of God 2023 will be the starting point of genius leadership.
