An 88th minute strike by Ebuka Nwokire was all Aba South needed to book a place in the last four of the Abia Governor’s Cup currently taking place in the state.
The Match against Isikwuato- who were billed as one of the contenders for the title, saw both sides battle from one end of the pitch to the other.
It looked destined for a draw until Nwokire struck a wonderful free kick from 12 yards out to beat the helpless Isikwuato Goalkeeper to eventually set up a mouthwatering tie with Ukwa East- who on Monday pipped Ohafia by 1-0.
The tournament takes a break and resumes on the 25th of January when Umuahia South engages Umuahia North in the first of the semis, as Aba South and Ukwa East square up on the 26th in the second Semifinal.
Winners of both matches will face each other in the finals billed for Jan 29, 2021.
