Former Nigerian Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby is set to be appointed as the coach of the India U-17 women’s team next week except for any last minute ditch.
The Swedish coach, who will be the first foreigner appointed as coach of an Indian women’s football team, terminated his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation on the 10th of this month.
The former Sweden women’s national team coach complained about lack of accommodation and undue influence in the course of doing his work.
It would be recalled that the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare made efforts to settle the dispute between coach and NFF, but every effort proved abortive.
However the coach is now set to open a new chapter in his career as he has now reached an agreement with All-India Football Federation to become their new U-17 coach, with the appointment set to be confirmed next week.
